Editing Pearls for Margaret

There's the old saying: "Ninety percent of writing is rewriting." It's sooooo true.
Today, I am editing my proof copy of Pearls for Margaret.
Now, to be clear, I have already edited the book, paid to have it professionally edited, then edited it before it went on for pre-orders.
BUT
When you get that proof copy, inevitably, INEVITABLY, you will open to a few random pages and there, glaring at you like a persnickety school marm, as obvious as a dusty bookcase, as embarrassing as a run in your tights, THERE WILL BE AN ERROR.
Face smack.
And so you edit on a Saturday hoping to beat the preorder deadline so the reader will not be jarred awake by a dangling modifier or fumble through dialogue missing commas.
I edit so that nothing distracts the reader from slipping out of this world into another, getting lost in 1815 London, and falling in love all over again.
